Mountain Explorers Program (Ages 8-12)

Kids get expert, caring instruction so they learn quickly and gain confidence. Mount Sunapee features the South Peak beginner area complete with five lifts servicing 13 trails. This separate mini-mountain area is excellent for learning, allowing beginners to progress in a comfortable and relaxed environment.

Mountain Explorers is a program designed for 8-12 year olds. The program is offered either half- or full-day and comes with an all-mountain lift ticket, lesson(s) and rentals. Full-day is 4 hours of lessons (Two 2-hour sessions) and includes lunch; half-day is one 2-hour lesson.

Lessons start at 10am and 1pm; Each lesson is 2 hours.

Please note: To maintain the health of our other guests and staff, we will not accept any children in the children's programs if they are showing any symptoms of the flu or sickness.

Another option is our Learning Center Season Pass.  This will allow a child to visit Mount Sunapee and receive lessons (and rentals if needed) for the entire season for one flat rate. 

Also available is a half-day South Peak Explorers package which is geared to the beginner skier and rider. Included in the package is a South Peak beginner area ticket, one 2-hour lesson and complete rental equipment package.

Reservations are not required for Mountain Explorers or the South Peak Explorers.

If rental equipment is needed, sign up in the Rental Shop.  Mountain Explorers who do not need rental equipment may sign up at the Learning Center desk in the Spruce or Sunapee Lodge or at the Learning Center.
